FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas (7-11, 2-5) travels to No. 23 Mississippi State (14-5, 4-4) Saturday for a 4 p.m. game televised by SEC-TV (Fox Sports Southwest). The Razorbacks are coming off Wednesday’s 81-70 win over No. 22 Alabama. MSU beat Vanderbilt, 82-60.
“We’re trying to get our first victory in a hostile environment. I’m impressed with Mississippi State. They are very efficient in all areas. The play inside and outside, and have a transition game. The play zone, man, trap and can pressure you full court. Eric Ferguson, Jonathon Modica and our guards really need to be on their game.
“Mario Austin does a great job of getting position early and they do a good job getting him the ball. He’s a complete player. He can score, rebound and make plays for other guys. He’s got the whole package and that makes the guys around him better. Michal Ignerski can score from the outside and that stretches the defense. They’ve won four of their last five, which shows that the early part of their conference schedule was tough. At one time, they were ranked seventh in the country, so you know that’s an outstanding team.”
