Start delayed at SEC Women's Golf Championship

LOUDON, Tenn. — The University of Arkansas lingered through a delay in second round action of the 2008 Southeastern Conference Women’s Golf Championship in Loudon, Tenn., Saturday.

Impending weather prompted tournament officials to delay the start after Friday’s round with teams teeing off beginning at 10:00 a.m., instead of the scheduled 8:00 a.m. start. The weather moved through overnight and play began unhampered.

Conditions at the course were windy and hot with temperatures climbing as play began. More rain is expected later in the day but course conditions are not expected to change much.

Arkansas senior Stacy Lewis continues to lead the field through the first holes on Saturday’s play. Arkansas had slipped on spot second behind Florida but both teams still had 15 holes to play in Saturday’s round.
