Stripling Wins at NACAC Sets School Record

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback soon-to-be junior Katie Stripling won a gold medal at the 2008 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Track & Field Championships in Toluca, Mexico.

Stripling, a two-time SEC Champion and 2008 NCAA Outdoor All-American in the pole vault, cleared 14-3.25 to win the event, set a personal best and break her own school record. Stripling held the previous UA record at 14-2, set at the John McDonnell Invitational in April.

The NACAC Athletic Association’s U-23 Championships are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Seventy-eight athletes have been named to the Team USA roster which was announced last week by USA Track & Field.
