Summer journal - Week 2

Note: Each week throughout the summer, a captain from the Razorback soccer team will write a journal entry to share with fans their thoughts on the upcoming season and what the team is doing to prepare. The entries will rotate among sophomore Allie Chandler, senior Camille Flores, junior Kendal Winston and senior Britni Williams. This week’s installment is from Chandler.

I am so excited to be back in Fayetteville and eager to join the workouts with the other girls on the team who are also participating in summer workouts. I have at home in Dallas been playing one last time for my club team, the Dallas Sting 91. For three weeks I trained hard on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to prepare for my last season in the North Texas State Cup. My team made it all the way to the finals and came in second place in the tournament! It was a blast not only to see my friends from home, but also to begin getting in shape for this season with the Razorbacks.

Monday is my first workout with my Razorback teammates who have committed to train over the summer. I am excited to get back in to the groove and prepare for the 2010 season. This week is also going to be special because we have a youth soccer camp. We are each helping to coach and share all of our soccer skills with the little kids so that one day they will fill our shoes and become a Razorback soccer star. Overall, my teammates and I continue to get more and more excited for the season to start and put all of our hard work to good use.
