FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorbacks baseball game against Western Illinois this Sunday, March 1, has been moved to a 12:05 p.m. start in an effort to relieve some of the potential congestion associated with the baseball game, that afternoon’s men’s basketball game against Georgia (3:05 p.m. start)and activities involving the Celebration of a Championship weekend.
Arkansas and Western Illinois kick off a three-game series on Friday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. which continues on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. and concludes on Sunday with the new time of 12:05 p.m.
The Razorbacks are currently 3-0 on the season and coming off a three-game sweep of Pac 10 opponent Washington St. at Baum Stadium. Arkansas next welcomes Kansas to Fayetteville for a pair of mid-week games Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon before beginning the series with the Leathernecks.
The primary reason for the change in game time is to allow fans the opportunity to attend some of the festivities surrounding the Celebration of a Championship weekend recognizing the 1994 NCAA Championship basketball team. An autograph session with the 1994 men’s basketball team is slated for Noon at Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas hosts Georgia in men’s basketball on Saturday at 3:05 p.m. The 1994 team will be recognized in a special halftime of special halftime festivities.
