Timothy Ridner - Football - Arkansas Razorbacks

Timothy Ridner

Tim Ridner joined the Razorback Sports Medicine staff July 2015 as a full-time assistant athletic trainer for the Razorback football team.

Ridner is responsible for assisting the head athletic trainer in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and emergency care of football student-athletes.

Prior to his arrival at Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ridner spent 1 1/2 years as a seasonal assistant athletic trainer working directly with the Cleveland Browns where he assisted the staff with treatments, documentation, inventory, packing medical trunks and other appointed tasks.

A native of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Ridner earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Pennsylvania State University in 2012. During his time at Penn State he worked with the football, baseball, basketball, hockey and track and field teams.

Ridner also interned with the Chicago Bears in 2011 where he assisted the staff with treatments, inventory and field management.

He became a certified athletic trainer following the completion of his undergraduate degree and began a two-year graduate assistantship providing health care for football student-athletes at the University of Arkansas. This opportunity required him to formulate creative rehabilitation protocols, maintain accurate medical records, supervise student athletic trainers and effectively communicate with the entire medical staff. After gaining the appropriate knowledge and experience, Tim graduated with his Masters of Education in May 2014.

He currently oversees graduate assistant athletic trainers as well as the entry-level masters athletic training students who are assigned with the football team. Ridner also supervises the undergraduate student athletic training program which provides a learning opportunity for Arkansas undergraduate students who want to further their education in sports medicine. The program gives valuable experience to prospective athletic training students in various sport settings across campus.

Ridner has a daughter named Kinley, and is married to the former Kayla Maxwell.
