Swenson Earns SEC Honor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas junior Keiryn Swenson earned selection to the 2018 Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Community Service Team the league office announced today.

Swenson, a 6-1, forward from Wichita, Kan., is the 20th Razorback selected to the team. She is an accounting major at Arkansas and maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Swenson has played in 26 of 27 games this season and averages 4.5 points per game. Swenson is shooting nearly 30% from distance and 70% from the free throw line this year.

Swenson is the chairwoman of Arkansas’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s (SAAC) Community Service sub-committee. Some of the events she has participated in this year include: Feed My Starving Children at an area Boys and Girls Club; The Razorback Canned Food Drive; Shopping with The Razorbacks in which student-athletes rained $1,837.00 to take 10 local elementary kids shopping at Toys R Us; Razorback Lip Sync Battle which raised over $500 for a local charity; and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Day Activities.

Swenson is on track to graduate in three years, completing her degree this summer. She is a five-time selection to the University of Arkansas Athletics Department Honor Roll as an Academic Champion (4.0). She is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll Selection.

Swenson and the Razorbacks conclude the 2018 regular season home schedule hosting No. 17 Texas A&M on Thursday in Bud Walton Arena. No. 17 Texas A&M on Thursday in Bud Walton Arena. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip and airs online on the SECN+.
