This WeekThe University of Arkansas diving squad travels to Austin, Texas, for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet March 1 – March 3. Junior Brieanne Kushner and sophomores Madison Palmer and Kellyn Williams compete.
RecapFebruary 22-24 Arkansas swimming competed in the American Short Course Championships in Austin, Texas. The Lady Razorbacks set eight season-best times and six career-best times.
Gregory breaks school recordJunior Emily Gregory broke her own school record in the 200 butterfly Feb. 24. Gregory finished the preliminaries of the event in 2:02.88, good enough for 6th place. She broke her previous school record of 2:03.50.
Career-best timesJunior Tifanie Silver earned two personal-best times in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Silver turned in a 58.86 in the finals of the 100 back and a 2:10.32 in the prelims of the 200 back. Freshman Allison Chinn also had an individual-best time of 56.05 ni the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Emily Fletcher was the other Lady’Back who had a career-best time. She finished the 200 individual medley in 2:15.41.
Top FinisherSivler was the top finisher for Arkansas this weekend, placing sixth in the finals of the 100 breastroke.
SEC ChampionshipsFebruary 2-10 Arkansas swimming and diving competed at the the Southeastern Conference Championships in Lexington, Ken. The Lady Razorbacks finished ninth with 143 points. Auburn took home the SEC title.
Top Times for the SeasonArkansas turned in 80 individual-best times so far this season.
Top FinishersSeveral Lady’Backs have two or more individual wins this season. Fulop enjoys 10 victories, Gregory has eight, Jackson has six, Thibodeaux and Kushner have five, and Palmer lays claim to three.Winning WaysArkansas finished the regular season 4-4 in dual meets, the most wins the program has seen since the 2002-03 season when the Lady’Backs finished 5-5.
