Last Time OutThe Razorbacks broke nine school records and set over 30 career-best times and scores on their way to placing fifth at the SEC Swimming & Diving Championships in Auburn, Ala.

Highest SEC finish everThe Razorbacks’ fifth place SEC finish is the highest SEC finish in program history. The squad finished with 299 points, less than 100 points behind Tennessee, who finished in fourth place with 394.5 points and is currently ranked No. 7 in the country.

In Poppell’s words (finishing fifth at SECs)“It was a fantastic meet for us. Finishing in a program-high fifth place and less than 100 points behind Tennessee, who is the No. 7 team in the country is a great accomplishment for us. Our swimmers and divers did an outstanding job this week and we’re very excited about our final results.”

Siow wins SEC 200 breast titleYi-Ting Siow won the 200 breast title on the last day of the SEC Championship meet, with her Arkansas record and NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 2:10.33. It is Siow’s first SEC title and she is the first Razorback to win an individual title under head coach Jeff Poppell.

In Poppell’s words (Siow’s 200 breast title)“We’re very proud of Yi-Ting for winning her first SEC title and the first SEC championship win for the Razorbacks in a very long time. It was really nice to hear the Arkansas fight song when she was up on medal stand being presented with her medal.”
