Team is excited, says Coach Petrino

NEW ORLEANS – The University of Arkansas football team practiced at Tulane University on Sunday in preparation for the 77th Annual Allstate Sugar Bowl against Ohio State on Tuesday. The eighth-ranked Razorbacks (10-2, 6-2 SEC), making the first BCS appearance in school history, are preparing to face the sixth-ranked Buckeyes (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten).

Head coach Bobby Petrino met with the media following the morning workout. Coach Petrino is coaching a January bowl game for the fourth time in his career, and Arkansas is in its 25th January bowl game.

"The game is almost here," Coach Petrino said. "We’ve had five practices since we’ve been down here. These last three have been our normal weekly schedule."

Coach Petrino made note of the excitement building within the Razorback squad for Tuesday’s game.

"We went out today, and our guys are excited," Coach Petrino said. "I think we’ve prepared well. We had a good practice today. Now we’ll look forward to our preparation leading up to the game."

The UA-OSU game will air on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. For more information on Razorback football, please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
