Tennis hopes to flood Tiger Town with Green Wa

        FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team heads to Louisiana for a weekend shootout with two of Louisiana’s finest tennis programs. The Lady Razorbacks (8-11) face the No. 20 Louisiana State Tigers (14-6) on Saturday, April 10, and the 13th ranked Tulane University Green Wave (19-1) the next day.
        Overall, the Lady’Backs are 9-13 against the Tigers. The last time the two met, LSU came to Fayetteville to upset the home team 6-1. Arkansas’ last win against the Tigers came in 2000 in a 5-4 victory in Fayetteville.
        The Tigers bring Jessica Ferguson, ranked 50th in the nation and two-time SEC Player of the Week. LSU also has several players on hot singles winning streaks.
        Arkansas owns the all-time series against the Green Wave, 4-2, including a 4-3 win in 2003 in Fayetteville. In that match, Arkansas lost all three doubles matches, but clawed its way back to victory with singles wins from Anna Dybicz, Megan Ferreira, Iliana Pacheco, and Monika Dybicz.
        Tulane features four ranked players, the highest being sophomore Erika Valdes, who notches the 47th spot in the nation.
