Terry Prentice named to service team

FAYETTEVILLE – Sophomore Terry Prentice, a member of the Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field teams, have been named to the 2010 SEC Track and Field Community Service Team, it was announced Tuesday.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts.

Prentice, a native of Pomona, Calif., competes in the multi-events for the men’s squad. He will begin competition in the decathlon at the SEC Championships on Thursday, in Knoxville.

A 2009-10 member of Arkansas’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Prentice’s community service efforts include participating in the Sweat Hawgs Program (physical education in schools), Christmas Shopping with the Razorbacks, Book Hogs Read To Win Program and serving as a Fayetteville Special Olympics volunteer.
