‘The Becker Wrecker’

Former Razorback great Peter Doohan passed away over the weekend at the age of 56.

A six-time All-American at Arkansas and the 1982 NCAA doubles champion, 35 years later, Doohan’s collegiate title remains as the lone tennis National Championship in Razorback history. Doohan will be remembered for more than just his collegiate heroics. In 1987, he was responsible for one of the greatest upsets in Wimbledon history, defeating two-time defending champion Boris Becker, the No. 1 player in the world.

Doohan was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease or ALS, just nine weeks ago.
