All of us at The Daily Call hope our readers are enjoying this special time with their friends and their families. As a reminder of what is important this time of year, we caught up with Razorback baseball as they made a special visit to a local elementary school:
@RazorbackBSB Spreads Holiday Cheer
Members of the University of Arkansas baseball team took some time away from finals earlier this week to deliver Christmas presents to local children at Leverett Elementary School in Fayetteville. This marks the sixth straight year that the Razorback baseball team has raised money and bought gifts for area underprivileged children.
Players and coaches from the team raised money and then used those funds to go out and purchase gifts for the children. The team delivered those presents on Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s always important for our team to give back to the Northwest Arkansas community, but it’s especially important during the holiday season,” said redshirt sophomore outfielder Tyler Spoon. “We’re very blessed to play baseball at the University of Arkansas and anything we can do to give back to the community is important. Seeing the smiles on the faces of all the kids as they opened their presents was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
