@RazorbackMBB faces Tennessee on the road Arkansas enters Wednesday’s SEC road test at Tennessee having played three straight overtime games for the first time in program history. Holding a lead with under five minutes to play in all three games, the Razorbacks are just minutes away from being 3-1 in the SEC against a slate that is 13-3 thus far, but enter with a 12-5 overall mark and 1-3 record in league action. Arkansas will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak on the road and a three-game streak in Knoxville. The Razorbacks rank 14th in the nation in scoring offense (83.3) and haven’t been held below 70 points in back-to-back games over their last 21 outings.
@RazorbackTF Earns SEC Weekly Honors Omar McLeod was been named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week, after helping the No. 1 Razorbacks defeat No. 15 Texas Friday at the Arkansas vs. Texas Dual. The freshman is now 5-for-5 this season, earning all five event titles to start his collegiate career. He won the 200-meter dash on Friday night at the Randal Tyson Track Center against No. 15 Texas with a time of 21.09, ranking among the top-12 athletes nationally. His time of 7.76 was good for the 60-meter title, which beat his time from last week and ranks him fourth nationally. His 60-meter hurdle time also leads the SEC and is third all-time at Arkansas. Following two collegiate-leading finishes at the Arkansas vs. Texas Dual, Dominique Scott has been named Southeastern Conference Co-Runner of the Week. Scott helped the Razorbacks take down No. 1 Texas on Friday at Randal Tyson Track Center. Coming in with an indoor mile PR of 4:44.78, Scott finished the day with a 4:38.49 win for the 2014 collegiate lead by more than two seconds over The Bowerman Watch List member Laura Roesler of Oregon. The time ranks fifth-best in school history. Later in the meet, she ran the final leg of the distance medley relay team that finished in a collegiate-leading time of 11:25.58. This is the second weekly award for Scott, who was named USTFCCCA National Runner of the Week on Monday.
@RazorbackSB Receiving Votes in USA Today/NFCA Preseason Poll The first preseason poll of the 2014 season has been released and the Razorbacks are receiving votes in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Preseason Poll which was released Tuesday morning. Arkansas’ schedule features eight opponents ranked inside the preseason top 18 including seven of the top 12. In a show of the league’s strength, the Razorbacks are one of 10 teams from the Southeastern Conference either ranked or receiving votes in the coaches’ poll here
