NCAA Track & Field West Preliminary Starts TomorrowApproximately 1,670 of the nation’s top athletes will begin competition tomorrow at John McDonnell Field as @RazorbackTF hosts the 2014 NCAA West Preliminary. Athletes from the NCAA’s top teams will compete for a qualifying mark to advance to the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. The No. 4 Razorback men’s team has 22 entries, the third-largest preliminary contingent in the nation, while the No. 8 Razorback women’s team has 20, the fifth-largest preliminary qualifying group.

Razorback Trio Earns SEC Postseason HonorsA trio of Arkansas baseball players earned All-Southeastern Conference honors as voted on by the league’s head coaches and announced on Tuesday. Eric Fisher headlined the group with second team All-SEC honors and an appearance on the All-Defensive Team at first base, while Andrew Benintendi was named to the All-Freshman squad and Jake Wise earned All-Defensive honors at catcher.

Final Prep Day as NCAA Regional LoomsThe Arkansas baseball team spent its final day in Fayetteville Tuesday before traveling to the NCAA Charlottesville Regional hosted by the University of Virginia. The Razorbacks worked out at Baum Stadium before meeting the media to talk about the team’s 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament and 27th appearance overall.

@ArkCoachLance, @RazorbackTF Earn Postseason HonorsAfter leading his team to the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championship title, women’s track and field head coach Lance Harter has been named SEC Women’s Coach of the Year.Harter led the No. 8 Razorbacks to their first outdoor title since 2004, earning the Coach of the Year honor for the fourth time in his career.

The All-SEC teams also were announced on Tuesday, with Arkansas earning 12 spots. The All-SEC First Team consists of the event winner in each event at the SEC Outdoor Championships, while the All-SEC Second Team consists of the second and third-place finishers in each event. The SEC All-Freshman Team is comprised of the top freshman finisher in each event, excluding relays, at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Omar McLeod was named Freshman Runner of the Year, finishing as runner up in the 110-meter hurdles at the SEC Championships, his first collegiate outdoor championship meet. His personal-best 110-meter hurdles time of 13.50 ranks No. 2 all-time at Arkansas and makes him the eighth-fastest 110m hurdler in the NCAA and the No. 1 freshman 110m hurdler in the SEC. McLeod was also SEC Freshman Runner of the Year during indoor season.

Nathanael Franks earned Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year, holding a 3.93 grade point average in his Masters of Accountancy program, having already obtained his MBA. He holds a Walton MBA Scholarship and is a Walton MBA Student Ambassador and Mentor. He earned his B.S. degree in physics and chemistry in three years, graduating Magna Cum Laude as a member of the Interdisciplinary Fulbright College Honors Program. Franks finished third in the decathlon at the 2014 SEC Outdoor Championships, helping the Razorbacks to a runner-up finish.

@RazorbackFB To Play Mizzou Friday After ThanksgivingArkansas will face new crossover opponent Missouri on Friday, Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m. on CBS, it was announced Tuesday. With Tuesday’s announcement, the Razorbacks are set to play on the Friday after Thanksgiving for the 17th time in the last 19 years. Arkansas and Missouri are meeting for the first time as SEC foes and the sixth time overall. The Razorbacks and Tigers are playing in the regular season for the first time since 1963, with their last two matchups occurring in bowl games, and are playing in Missouri for the first time since a 7-6 Arkansas win in 1944.
