The third round is over -- finally

Jump to results ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The third round of the 2008 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship finally ended Friday morning just before 9:00 a.m. Arkansas and the others in the 24-team field had play suspended four times during the second and third rounds Thursday finally leaving the University of New Mexico Golf Course after 16 hours when the event was called for darkness. Arkansas and several other teams had to finish two holes at 8:00 a.m. Friday before the start of the final round. The Lady Razorbacks return to the golf course at 1:30 p.m. playing with Arizona State and Texas A&M in the last round. Weather problems continue to plague the area. Temperatures were in the high 40s for the completion of the previous day’s round and rain and strong winds are expected for the afternoon. Play could be delayed or even postponed until Saturday if necessary. Arkansas is tied for sixth overall after shooting a 14-over 302 for the third round. Senior Stacy Lewis is tied for seventh in the club house with a 220 (73-72-75). Junior Lucy Nunn was one-under in the third and is tied for 21st with 224 (76-77-71) followed by freshman Kelli Shean who is tied for 52nd with a 228 (76-74-78). Sophomores Kristin Ingram and Alex Schulte round out the scoring. Ingram is tied of 62nd (73-79-78=230) while Schutle is tied for 81st (80-74-79-233).
