PINEHURST, N.C. — A trio of current and future University of Arkansas women’s golfers made the cut and advanced at the 110th North & South Amateur Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., Thursday. Incoming freshman Gabriela Lopez and Regina Plasencia along with junior-to-be Emma Lavy all finished inside the top 60 making the cut to match play as the tournament continues. Lopez paced the Razorbacks in 15th place overall shooting 221 (73-74-74), followed by Lavy (75-74-75) and Plasencia (74-74-76) who tied for 23rd overall shooting 224. Former Razorback Corinna Rees (159), future Razorback Olivia Lavy (16) and current Razorback Meagan Roberts (161) did not advance. Lopez was steady in the first three rounds of stroke play finishing with eight birdies in three days. Lavy had four and Plasencia five to move on. Players compete in three rounds of stroke play followed by four rounds of match play to determine the champion. The 117 player field will be cut to the low 60 and ties following the second round and the top 16 players move on to match play.
