Thursday practice report

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Razorback football team returned to the practice field Thursday afternoon for a workout inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Following practice, head coach Bobby Petrino spoke with the media.

On Thursday’s practice:

"Today was good. We practiced hard. We have a ways to go to get our concentration and focus to the same level it was last week but that’s normal. Our players did come out and put a lot of effort on the field. They practiced with good speed and we’ll be ready to go Saturday at 6:30 p.m."

On the possibility of being bowl eligible after Saturday’s game:

"We don’t talk about it a lot. We all understand it. We all know that’s one of our goals this season. Our players want to finish strong and they talk about winning out. I always remind them if we don’t win this game we can’t do either of those things. We have to play one game at a time and this game is important to us. We have to execute, play well and get a win."

On the Troy game:

"Troy is a really good football team. Their defensive linemen can rush the passer, they hit quarterbacks, they run to the ball. Offensively, they execute their passing game and their quarterback is really accurate. He gets the ball out of his hands quickly. We are going to have to play well."

On the health of the team:

"We are good, we are healthy. Ramon Broadway is back. He had three good practices this week. He’ll be ready to play in the game. Last week, he was in a position where if we needed him in the game, he could have gone in. It was good that he was able to hold off another week. He’s healthy and full speed. Michael Smith is healthy and full speed. I think we are in good shape."
