BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU pounded out 16 hits and scored 17 runs to out-slug Arkansas 17-11 in SEC baseball action on Sunday afternoon at Alex Box Stadium.
The Tigers (26-10, 10-4 SEC) completed a three-game sweep with the victory and earned LSU head coach Skip Bertman his 800th win in the process. Arkansas (15-20, 2-11 SEC) dropped its eight-straight decision including its 11th straight SEC loss.
LSU took an early lead with a four-run first inning including a two-run home run off the bat of Mike Fontenot. The Razorbacks bounced back with single runs in the second, third and fourth to cut the lead to one. The Tigers then posted six runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 10-3.

LSU’s Jason Scobie (1-0) picked up the win after tossing one scoreless inning of relief. Razorback starter Mike Moriarity (2-2) was charged with the loss after allowing seven runs in just three innings.
Arkansas will travel to Tulsa, Okla. on Tuesday night to battle the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. The Hogs return to SEC play next weekend when Alabama visits Fayetteville.
