Tigu set to compete at All-American

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas junior Anouk Tigu is scheduled to compete Tuesday morning in the first round of the qualifying draw at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships hosted by the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Tigu will take on Alabama’s Courtney McLane in her opening-round match. In last season’s dual match against the Crimson Tide, McLane defeated Tigu 6-2, 6-1.

Tigu was the lone Razorback ranked in the ITA preseason singles rankings, at No. 59.

The two-day event serves as a feeder into the main draw that takes place Oct. 8-11, also at the Riviera Tennis Club. Tigu is competing in the 64-player singles draw needing to win three matches to earn one of the eight open slots in the 64-player main draw event.
