FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — University of Arkansas women’s basketball head coach Tom Collen met with members of the media on Thursday to recap the Razorbacks’&91-33&win over Oral Roberts and preview the upcoming matchup against Furman at Bud Walton Arena on Saturday.

"We’re pleased to be 2-0 and we played a pretty good basketball game against Oral Roberts," Collen said. "Our offense was clicking for us, but I thought our defense was the highlight of the game. With each game that comes up, it’s a different challenge and different type of team. I think Furman is going to be a good quality opponent for us."

Collen said he has enjoyed the defensive mindset of his team so far this season and the commitment to that aspect of the game.

"I think they’re starting to embrace the defensive side of the ball," Collen said. "We’ve got some players who have some natural ability there. I think they’re starting to embrace that a bit."

The Razorbacks have gotten off to a hot shooting start this season, currently&tied for first in the SEC in three-point field goals made (20). UA also leads the&conference in scoring margin, holding a +47.0 differential over opponents through two games.

"Sometimes making shots covers up a lot of other mistakes and illnesses that any team might have," Collen said. "We’ve been fortunate in these first two games that we’ve made a lot of shots. I don’t know whether we’ll come out and shoot it like that every game, but I think it’s nice to see that we’ve got players with that kind of confidence. Especially the young players putting the ball in the basket right now."

Arkansas (2-0) hosts Furman (1-1) on Saturday in its third non-conference game of the season. Opening tip is scheduled for 1 p.m.
