TONY CHERICO - HONORARY CAPTAIN FOR FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL GAME

The University of Arkansas is proud to announce former Razorback Tony Cherico as the Old Spice honorary captain for the Florida International-Arkansas football game on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The University of Arkansas Men’s Athletic Department will present an honorary captain for each Fayetteville home game this season. Each honorary captain will be honored prior to the game on the field, recognized on the SmartVision and will accompany the Razorback captains to midfield for the coin toss. The honorary captain will also appear at the Legends Tent presented by Old Spice and Spectrum Brands in the AT&T Trough approximately 90 minutes before game time.Cherico was a four-year letterman for the Razorback from 1984 to 1987. An All-America in 1987 at noseguard, Cherico was also a three-time all-Southwest Conference selection. He ended his Razorback career with 258 tackles and 26 tackles for loss.A member of the 1980’s All-Decade Team, Cherico was captain of the 1987 squad. He played in four bowl games, the 1984 Liberty, the 1985 Holiday, the 1986 Orange Bowl and the 1987 Liberty, and during his four year career the Hogs went 35-13-1.
