PALO ALTO, Calif. – The No. 6 University of Arkansas men’s track and field team capped its weekend at the Stanford Invitational with a trio of top-five finishes Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif. The Razorbacks’ 4×100- and 4×400-meter relays were fourth and fifth, respectively, while Devin Randall placed fifth in the invitational section of the shot put. The team is back in action April 10-11 when it hosts the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville.

In the first event of the day, the 4×100-meter quartet of Ryan Green, Kenzo Cotton, Marqueze Washington and Jamarco Stephen combined for a time of 40.66, just off its season opener of 40.33 at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. Arkansas closed out the day with a time of 3:12.67 from Cotton, Washington, Stephen and Eric Janise in the 4×400-meter relay.
The Razorbacks’ top individual finish Saturday belonged to Randall competing in the shot put. He posted his best mark of the day in the sixth round with a toss of 16.62m/54-6.5 to finish in fifth place. Saturday’s result was his second top-five of the weekend coupled with a third-place finish in Friday’s discus.
The Razorbacks were part of a loaded field that includes competition from No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 3 Oregon, No. 5 Texas, No. 12 Oklahoma State, host and No. 14 Stanford, No. 21 Washington and No. 24 Michigan.
