Totten breaks Filipino record

ROME, Italy. — University of Arkansas junior Erica Totten broke her second Filipino record at the 13th FINA World Championships Wednesday, taking 38th in the prelims of the 200-meter butterfly in a time of 2:16.13.Totten, a native of the Republic of the Philippines, broke her own Filipino record in the 200-meter, fly a day after setting a new Filipino record in the 200-meter free where she finished 47th.

On Thursday, senior Yi-Ting Siow will return to the starting blocks for her third and final event of the championships, swimming in the 200-meter breaststroke event.
