Track Hogs add NLI for 2011

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas Razorback head track and field coach Chris Bucknam has announced the addition of another National Letter of Intent student-athlete to the roster for the 2010-11 season.

Noah Kittelson is a native of Indianola, Iowa and will graduate from Indianola High School in 2010. He currently competes in the high jump and the hurdles but will focus solely on the high jump when he arrives in Fayetteville. Kittelson will join a high jump crew that includes All-American Brede Raa Ellingsen and 2011 incoming freshmen Dwayne Golbek and Raymond Higgs.

"What a great addition to our track and field program," Bucknam said. "Noah is not just a great athlete but a great student, as well. We have had our eye on him for a couple of years now. We knew he had terrific ability and now his hard work and effort are paying off. I’m very excited for our high jump crew next year. The addition of Kittelson is going to give us tremendous depth in that event."

Kittelson is a two-time state champion, a three-time conference champion and a two-time Drake Relays Champion. He holds a high jump personal best of 7-0.5. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the honor roll and has earned academic all-conference honors.

Kittelson joins Auston Chen (Tampa, Florida, multi events), Sam Ewing (Glenwood, Ark., pole vault), Golbek (Claremore, Okla., high jump) and Kevin Lazas (Brentwood, Tenn., multi events) in Arkansas’ 2011 signing class.

The Razorbacks will compete next when they host the John McDonnell Invitational, Sat., April 10, at John McDonnell Field.
