FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas junior Emily Tubert earned Southeastern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week the league office announced today.The Burbank, Calif., native paced the eighth-ranked Razorbacks to a team title at the LSU Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La., last week. It was the third consecutive top three finish for Arkansas and the seventh consecutive top five finish for the team.Tubert won the event shooting an even par 216 with rounds of 72-72-72 in windy conditions. The win is the second of the season and the fifth career title for the two-time All-SEC and All-America selection. This is the fourth SEC weekly honor for Tubert and the third selection for a Razorback this season.Tubert’s final round 72 tied for the lowest round of the day as she paced the Razorbacks to a wire-to-wire win. Her round of 216 was five shots better than her nearest competition and she earned Golfweek.com Player of the Week honors for her victory.Tubert leads the team in stroke average this week and ranks 29th in the nation in the Golfweek.com rankings and is sixth in the SEC. She has posted 10 rounds of par or better.The team title was the first for Arkansas since the 2010 season. As a team, the Razorbacks led the field in par four scoring and birdies, ranked third in par five scoring and pars and was tied for third in par three scoring at the tournament. Arkansas was also honored by Golfweek.com as their team of the week Monday.The spring season continues as Tubert leads the Razorbacks into action at the Bryan Collegiate this weekend in the final regular season event before heading to the SEC Championship.
