FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas sophomore Emily Tubert was selected as a member of the 2011 USA Spirit International Team by Spirit International. The 2011 Spirit International event features 80 players from 20 countries and includes national amateur champions and top-ranked players from all over the world. As part of Tubert’s selection, she had to create a video introducing herself to her Spirit International teammates and competitors. That video can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5_4-HiKwtc. The event format is a four-ball stroke play and the men’s and women’s four-ball score is combined for the international competition. There is also a separate men’s and women’s team competition. This year’s event takes place at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas, Nov. 2-5, 2011. Joining Tubert on this year’s team is Austin Ernst, the 2010 NCAA Champion and first-time All-American sophomore from Louisiana State. Kelly Kraft, the 2011 U.S. Amateur Champion and Nathan Smith, the 2010 U.S. Mid-Amateur Champion are the male representatives. Tubert joins former Razorback Amanda McCurdy as Arkansas players who have taken part in the Spirit International. McCurdy played in 2005.
