Turner Tied for Lead Heading Into Final Round

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Jason Turner used an even-par 71 Monday to climb from third place into a tie for the individual lead at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate, while Arkansas sits in fifth position in the team standings. Tuesday’s final round is set to begin for the Razorbacks at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.

Turner, who posted an eagle on the par-five 16th hole Monday, is tied with Texas Tech’s Will Griffin for the tournament lead at one-over-par. The UA team carded a second-round 296, improving on it opening round score by nine strokes, and are 33-over-par through two rounds.

Joining Turner in the top 10 on the leaderboard is sophomore David Lingmerth who is tied for ninth place after his even-par 71 during Monday’s round. He began the day with a share of 16th, but ended the day six shots over part, just five shots back of the leaders.

Andrew Landry finished the day with a five-over-par 76 and is tied for 21st place overall with three other golfers at 11-over-par. Seniors Barrett Lais and Allen McFerran both posted a second-round 78 and are tied for 36th and 48th place, respectively.

The overall team lead is held by SMU which shot a round-best 281 and is 20-over-par after two rounds. The Mustangs have a five-shot lead over Texas A&M and Texas Tech. On the individual leaderboard, Turner and Griffin are two shots ahead of Baylor’s Cody Paladino and SMU’s Ben Tewes.

Will Osborne, a UA junior competing individually, is in 51st place following his second-round 82 that put him at 20-over-par for the tournament.
