Two Personal Bests On Day Three In Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Two Razorbacks set personal bests on the third day of competition at the NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium.

A day removed from swimming in her first ever championship event, freshman Ayumi Macias notched her second personal best of the week with a 47th-place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.64. With the fastest time on the team this season, Macias now holds the top-two times by an Arkansas swimmer and three of the top four.

Senior Mary Margaret Soderberg also set a personal best in the 100 breaststroke, touching 49th in 1:01.98. Her time is the third fastest on the team this year. Junior Chelsea Tatlow finished in 53rd in the 100 backstroke in 54.81.

Junior Nicole Gillis scored a six-dive total of 287.15 in the 3m springboard to wrap up her season with a 26th-place finish.

The final day of events will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. CT. Soderberg will compete in the 200 breast, Tatlow in the 200 fly and Macias will swim the 1650 free.

ESPN3.com will stream the championships finals sessions live Saturday. The morning sessions will be streamed live on NCAA.com and www.indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour broadcast via tape delay at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday, March 28. Live results for the championships will be available on NCAA.com.
