Two TV Appearances Coming to Barnhill Arena

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As part of Wednesday’s release by the Southeastern Conference, the Razorback volleyball team will make four national television appearances during the upcoming season. Two of Arkansas’ television appearances will originate from Barnhill Arena with nine other home matches streamed on SEC Network+ through the WatchESPN app.

Wed, Sept. 27 – Arkansas at Alabama, 7 p.m. (SEC Network)
Sun, Oct. 22 – Mississippi State at Arkansas, 12 p.m. (SEC Network)
Wed, Oct. 25 – Arkansas at Georgia, 6 p.m. (ESPNU)

An additional television appearance could be added with a wildcard pick to be decided at the discretion of the SEC Network. The late-season date—Nov. 19 at defending SEC co-champion Missouri—allows for the league to select those compelling matchups that could influence standings at that point in the year.

2017 Arkansas Volleyball Schedule

The Razorbacks take the floor Aug. 25-26 with the season-opening Arkansas Classic at Barnhill Arena. The team will host CSU Bakersfield, ULM and Utah State to open the 2017 campaign. In its second season under head coach Jason Watson, Arkansas is set to face 10 matches against eight teams that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament. The Razorbacks’ SEC opener, Nov. 20 against Tennessee, is the first of four television appearances.

Preseason All-SEC selection Pilar Victoria is one of eight returning letterwinners to go along with nine newcomers. Victoria, Krista Kolbinskie and Kori Ortiz make up the team’s senior class. Arkansas also welcomes back junior Kelly O’Brien and Okiana Valle, and sophomore Fernanda Güitron, Rachel Rippee and Reagan Robinson. The Razorbacks’ incoming class received Highest Honorable Mention accolades from PrepVolleyball.
