UA Track Coach John McDonnell Suffers Mild Hea

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Head Track and Field Coach John McDonnell is in stable condition at Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) after suffering a mild heart attack on Sunday morning.
McDonnell, 62, was at his home preparing to attend church services when he began to feel discomfort. His wife Ellen immediately transported him to WRMC.
Coach McDonnell is now resting comfortably in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at WRMC. He is expected to make a full recovery.
McDonnell is in his 27th season as the head cross country and track and field coach at the University of Arkansas. The most decorated collegiate coach in NCAA history, McDonnell has led the Razorbacks to 36 national championships in cross country, indoor and outdoor track including the 2000 NCAA Cross Country Championships staged last November in Ames, Iowa.
