UA faculty shown appreciation at Red-White game

More than 500 University of Arkansas faculty members were in attendance at the Arkansas football Red-White spring game to participate in Faculty Appreciation Day. University of Arkansas Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics, Jeff Long, along with the University of Arkansas Faculty Senate and Faculty Athletic Committee partnered to sponsor the event. The event was held to show appreciation to faculty for their efforts and desire to continue to enhance a partnership in higher education. This is the second time the event has been hosted and this year’s attendance total doubled that of 2008.“We are honored that so many members of our faculty and their families joined us for the spring game,” Long said. “In only two years, this event has turned into one of the highlights of the spring semester and we look forward to welcoming even more of our faculty members next year. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our faculty for their tireless efforts in promoting higher education and working with all University of Arkansas students. They are truly making a difference in young people’s lives.” Faculty members of all ages and their guests were entertained in the East Indoor Club in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium as they viewed the spring game. Faculty members were encouraged to bring their children, many of which were seeing the Razorbacks for the first time. The faculty members were part of a crowd of 30,000 who attended the spring game. — HOGS —
