TULSA, Okla. – The Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships ended Thursday afternoon for Arkansas as the sixth-ranked doubles team of seniors Adrians Zguns and Rohan Gajjar were defeated in the round of 16 at the Michael D. Case Center. The pair fell to Stanford’s 13th-ranked KC Corkery and James Pade, 8-3.
“We had a good run and it was a great tournament for us,” Arkansas head coach Robert Cox said. “We went 10-4 as a whole team, including doubles. It’s a good start for these three seniors and they got a lot of matches in. You can’t do that unless you’re winning, so I’m really proud of them.”
The Hogs will not have long to rest as the team will be sent to two different venues next weekend. One group will travel to Columbia, S.C., for the South Carolina Invitational, while Matt Roberts, Gajjar and Zguns will compete in an USA Tennis Association sponsored event in Arlington, Texas.
