UA sells out of bowl allotment

The University of Arkansas Athletic Department announced Saturday that the school has sold out of its total allotment of more than 25,500 tickets to the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2 at 4:30 p.m. CT. Response from the Razorback fans has been overwhelming as the school has sold more than double its original allotment of 12,000 tickets to the game. A limited amount of tickets to the game remain available to fans through the bowl web site. "In uncertain economic times, the response shows the incredible passion of the Razorback fans and this is what will boost our profile for future bowl invitations," said UA Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long. "We are looking forward to a tremendous week in Memphis and appreciate the support of our fans." Arkansas will play Conference USA Champion East Carolina for the first time in school history in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The Razorbacks will be making their 37th bowl appearance and first under head coach Bobby Petrino. The Razorbacks will be making their fourth appearance in the Liberty Bowl (1971, 1984 and 1987). The bowl will be the ninth in the last 12 years Arkansas.
