UA Sports Information Earns Three Publication Awards from CoSIDA

Six members of the University of Arkansas sports information staff were recently recognized for their work on three different publications, including two best in the nation awards, at the annual College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) convention in Philadelphia.

Arkansas’ 2004-05 Game Day basketball program was judged best in the nation by CoSIDA while the cover for UA’s 2004-05 cross country/track and field media guide was named best in the nation in the multi-sport category. The cross country/track and field media guide was named the fourth-best multi-sport publication in the country.

In addition, the tennis media guide placed third in District VI, which includes all Division I schools in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

“Our staff takes a lot of pride in producing publications that help showcase the University of Arkansas and its great athletic programs,” Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information Kevin Trainor said. “It is gratifying for our department to be nationally recognized for those publications.”

The basketball game program was written and edited by Association Sports Information Director Robby Edwards, and student assistants Meredith Adams and Matt Dozier.

The cross country/track and field media guide was written and edited by Assistant Sports Information Director Stephanie Wetzel and Trainor.
