FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas announced today it has officially sold out of its ticket allotment for its Jan. 4, 2011 game against the Ohio State Buckeyes at the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Arkansas received more than 24,000 pre-orders for Allstate Sugar Bowl tickets. The University of Arkansas received an allotment of 17,500 tickets for the game. The Razorbacks will be making their first Bowl Championship Series (BCS) appearance in school history and will play in the Sugar Bowl for the first time since 1980."As expected, the demand for tickets to the Allstate Sugar Bowl has been far greater than the tickets we were allotted by the bowl game," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "We appreciate the tremendous response from the Razorback fans. "At this time, the Razorback Foundation anticipates being able to accommodate members and season ticket holders who pre-ordered bowl tickets through the Razorback Ticket Office. Unfortunately, with the limited number of tickets made available, we will not be able to accommodate out of the official bowl ticket allotment general public pre-orders."Qualified ticket pre-orders will be adjusted to reflect Razorback Foundation quantity limits and availability of premium tickets at the levels requested. If premium tickets are not available at the level requested, the order will be fulfilled at the next available level with the price not to exceed the original requested order. Seating location for tickets will be determined by Razorback Foundation priority ranking.Allstate Sugar Bowl tickets will be express mailed to ticket holders no later than two weeks prior to the game.
