UA swimming and diving adds Olympic Trials finalist

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Liana Bugslag was added to the University of Arkansas swimming and diving team, head coach Jeff Poppell announced on Tuesday. Bugslag comes to Arkansas from Victoria, British Columbia where she was a 2008 Canadian Olympic Trials finalist on the 10-meter platform. “We’re extremely excited about the addition of Liana to our diving program,” said diving coach Dale Schultz. “With her having been a finalist at the Canadian Olympic Trials, her platform background gives us a foundation to help put Razorback diving back in the national spotlight. With her youth and talent, her development will be exciting to watch over the next four years.” A member of the Boardworks club team, Bugslag was a provincial champion the past four years on the one meter, three meter and the platform. She was also a medalist at the Western Canada Games and Junior Nationals. Bugslag competed at the Junior and Senior Nationals in addition to the Olympic Trials. Bugslag has international experience on her resume earning three gold and two silver medals at the Finnish Nationals and a silver medal at the Australian Nationals. The 2008 Claremont Secondary graduate is the daughter of Bob and Linda Bugslag and has an older sister, Gina. For more information about Arkansas swimming and diving, please log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
