UAMS Forms Medical Services Partnership To Serve Razorback Student-Athletes

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback Athletics has announced an additional medical services agreement to enhance the care for Razorback student-athletes. As part of the new agreement the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will provide the services of some of its surgeons, specifically its team of hand and hip specialists.

“The partnership between UAMS and Razorback Athletics will help ensure our student-athletes will receive the highest quality care in the important specialty areas of hands and hips,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “UAMS is known throughout the nation as a leader in the medical community and will strengthen our commitment to our young people.”

“UAMS has always enjoyed a close relationship with the University of Arkansas and the Razorbacks,” said UAMS Chancellor Dan Rahn, M.D. “For many years, UAMS has provided a physician for on-field care for the Razorback football team. We are pleased to be expanding our involvement with the Razorbacks to provide subspecialty care for all student-athletes.”
