UNT tournament ends early

DENTON, Texas — Rain and field conditions bring the University of Arkansas’ participation in the UNT Invitational to a close earlier than expected with the cancellation of today’s game with Drake University.

The Razorbacks and Bulldogs were to start at 9 a.m., and the game was initially moved back to 10:30 a.m. As the morning continued, Colorado State was substituted for Drake with a 1 p.m. start. Eventually, all games for today except for a late afternoon match between host North Texas and in-state rival Sam Houston State at 4:30 p.m. were scrubbed.

Arkansas, 5-4, was 3-1 for the weekend at North Texas, carrying a three-game win-streak into today’s final game.

Coach Mike Larabee’s team returns to Fayetteville today to prepare for next weekend’s tournament, the NFCA Lead-Off Classic, in Columbus, Ga., Feb. 26-28.
