ROGERS, Ark. – A slow start didn’t dampen the experience for University of Arkansas rising senior Alana Uriell as her time at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G came to a close on Saturday.

Uriell, playing in the event on a sponsor’s exemption, shot 71–73—144 missing the cut into Sunday’s final round by just three strokes. Today’s round featured six bogeys and four birdies including a four on the par-5 final hole despite taking relief from a sprinkler head in the fairway.

After starting the day even, Uriell opened with four consecutive bogeys on the front nine. She settled in on the far side of the golf course with birdies on Nos. 6 and 7 moving from plus-4 to plus-2. Uriell, who out-drove her LPGA playing partners most of the day, hit both tee shots close and made good putts to rally.

She would add bogeys on holes eight and 12 but finished strong counting a two on the par-3 15th hole over the water after dropping her tee shot inside of a foot of the pin. A good putt was helped by a little bit of luck on the final hole in front of the crowd who Called The Hogs one final time for Uriell.

Ten–year LPGA Tour veteran Stacy Lewis is in contention and is tied for second shooting 66–65—131 (-11). She is five strokes back of the leader heading into the final round. Lewis had four birdies in the first nine holes and added her fifth on the par-3 No. 11. She hit her tee shot wide to the left on No. 12 for the only blemish on her scorecard counting a bogey on the hole. Lewis finished with back-to-back birdies to end her round.

Gabriela Lopez is also in the top-10, tied for 10th after rounds of 68–68—136 (-6). Regina Plasencia’s tournament came to an end despite a 67 in Saturday’s round. The former Razorback opened play with an 80 and finished shooting 147 (+5). Emily Tubert also missed the cut with rounds of 72–81—153 (+11).
