SAN ANTONIO, Texas – University of Arkansas junior Alana Uriell is having the best fall of her Razorback career and that continued on Sunday when she fired a 7-under 65 to grab the lead at the UTSA Maryb S. Kauth Invitational at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.

Uriell has posted two top-10 finishes in the first three events this year and eight of her 10 rounds have been under par. Her round of 65 on Sunday betters her previous season and career bests by several strokes. Uriell opened her round with back-to-back birdies and had four birdies in the first five holes.

She gave a stroke back on No. 9 – her only bogey of the day – but finished strong with birdies on Nos. 11, 13, 17 and 18.

The ninth-ranked Razorbacks are third shooting 288. They trail the field leader, Mississippi State who is in the clubhouse with a 4-under 284 and No. 23 Tennessee who carded 285. Arkansas is two shots better than No. 39 Texas A&M at 290 as the Southeastern Conference dominates the top of the leader board after the first round.

Sophomore Kylee Benton opens play tied for 15th overall shooting an even-par 72 followed by senior Samantha Marks who is tied for 25th with 74. Sophomore Maria Fassi is tied for 54th at 77 and sophomore Cara Gorlei rounds out the Razorback scores with a 7-over 79.
