FAYETTVILLE – The Arkansas baseball team closes the non-conference portion of its regular season schedule on Tuesday night as it hosts UT Martin. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.Tuesday’s game will be televised on CST with Brock Bowling and Ron Swoboda on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on the Razorback Baseball Radio Network from IMG College. Three-time Arkansas Sportscaster of the Year Chuck Barrett (play-by-play) and former Arkansas Sports Information Director Rick Schaeffer (analyst) will call the action.

Tickets are $10 for reserved seats and can be purchased by calling 1-800-982-HOGS (4647), by visiting the online ticket center at ArkansasRazorbacks.com and on gameday at Baum Stadium, while supplies last.The Razorbacks, ranked as high as 18th in the country, are currently 33-17 overall and 13-14 in the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas has had success against non-conference foes in 2011, posting a 20-3 record outside the SEC. Last weekend, the Razorbacks dropped a hard-fought series at No. 4 South Carolina, losing two of three games to the Gamecocks. Jarrod McKinney hit .625 (5-for-8) with two RBI and three runs scored in the series, while Dominic Ficociello hit .571 (8-for-14) with three RBI and a pair of runs. Matt Reynolds (.375) and Bo Bigham (.308) also hit over .300 in the three-game set.Ficociello leads Arkansas with a .363 batting average on the season with four homers and a team-high 46 RBI. James McCann is hitting .311 on the year and has six homers and 28 RBI. McKinney is also batting over .300 on the season, hitting .302 with two round-trippers and 18 RBI.Freshman right hander Brandon Moore will start for Arkansas on Tuesday night. Moore is 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 14 appearances, including 10 starts. He last appeared in last Sunday in the series finale at South Carolina, throwing two innings out of the bullpen. His last start came on May 3, when he earned the win against Southeast Missouri State with four shutout innings.Out of the bullpen, redshirt Trent Daniel has been the most effective reliever for the Razorbacks, appearing in 20 games and compiling a 2-0 record with two saves and a 1.91 ERA. Freshman Barrett Astin has thrown in 21 games and is 4-1 with one save and a 3.00 ERA. Freshman Nolan Sanburn leads Arkansas with eight saves and is 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA in a team-high 22 appearances.
UT Martin enters Tuesday’s game with a 18-31 record. The Skyhawks have dropped five straight games and were swept over the weekend by Tennessee Tech. As a team, UT Martin is hitting .274, while the pitching staff has a 6.90 ERA.
The Skyhawks are led at the plate by Phil Sorenson, who is hitting a team-best .371 with four homers and 33 RBI. Cody Terry is hitting .333 with a homer, 31 RBI and 10 stolen bases. Trey Karlen leads UT Martin with seven homers, 40 RBI and 19 stolen bases, to go along with a .295 batting average.
UT Martin is scheduled to start junior righty Willie Frederick on Tuesday night. Frederick, who will be making his first start of the season, is 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA in 19 appearances this season. Frederick has thrown 36.1 innings, allowing 30 runs, 23 earned, with 26 strikeouts.
Alec Mills has been the most used reliever for the Skyhawks, pitching in 26 games with a 5-4 record, three saves and a 7.26 ERA. Alex Boshers has appeared in 20 games, 13 in relief, and is 4-2 on the season with a 5.50 ERA.
Tuesday’s game marks the first-ever meeting between Arkansas and UT Martin. Arkansas is 26-5 all-time against teams from the Ohio Valley Conference, including a 1-1 record in 2011.
