Volleyball team wraps up good spring

FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas volleyball team wrapped up a successful spring competition season with four wins at the Loyola Marymount Tournament this weekend. Arkansas notched victories over the host Loyola Marymount, split with San Diego and defeated Long Beach State and Cal State Northridge in the final tournament of the spring. Practice for the Lady Razorbacks continues for one more week until finals begin. "I’m very proud of the team and how they played this weekend," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. "We played a brutal schedule again this spring but I think we gained some respect with our play this weekend. We overcame some adversity and really hung in there." Arkansas endured the long trip West to play nine games in a row without a break. In addition, a pair of Lady’Backs were a bit under the weather and one, redshirt freshman Destiny Clark, sprained her ankle during play. The Lady Razorbacks resume official workouts in August before their first event next year. For more information about Arkansas volleyball, log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
