Vote Mallett for Premier Player of the Year

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett has been named a contender for the 2010 Premier Player of College Football award, given by www.premierplayers.com. The fan vote-driven contest will determine a winner from a pool of 15 college football players, which includes Arkansas’ standout signal caller. Mallett, a preseason first-team All-SEC honoree, tied or broke 16 school records last season en route to leading the conference in touchdown passes (30), passing yards per game (278.8) and total offense (276.5). A native of Texarkana, Ark., Mallett was the MVP of the Razorbacks’ 20-17 overtime victory in the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.Arkansas fans can cast votes at the website up until Dec. 5. The winner of the contest will be announced Dec. 18.
