NORMAN, Okla. – The top-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team leap-frogged up the leaderboard in round two of the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla., Saturday.
The Razorbacks posted the lowest round of the day with an eight-under 272 – the best round of the tournament – moving up into sole position of third place, just one-shot back of second.
“Obviously it was a much better round today,” Arkansas head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor said. “The golf course was shortened up a little bit today and the weather was good. I was really proud of Regina’s (Plasencia) 66 and for Samantha (Marks) to shoot 30 on the back side is really good. Summar (Roachell) grinded so well all day long and she really stayed focused. Gaby (Lopez) was just solid and stayed patient for another good round. Jordy (LaBarbera) was solid for about 16 or 17 holes and she is getting some really good experience. I still think our best golf is still in front of us and we have one more opportunity to move up the leaderboard with a final round Monday.”
