AZUSA, Calif.  – The seventh-ranked Arkansas men’s track and field team opened its three-day weekend of competition in Azusa, California Thursday evening at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Senior captain Cale Wallace raced to a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal best time of 9 minutes, 1.4 seconds. New to the event, Wallace’s performance at Cougar Athletic Stadium is the third best in the event in the Southeastern Conference.

Northwest Arkansas local Aidan Swain also finished among the top runners in the steeplechase placing sixth in a career best 9:09.80.

Day Two
All-Americans Gabe Gonzalez (indoor 5K) and Frankline Tonui (cross country) will compete in Norwalk at the Mt. SAC Relays today in the 5K and steeplechase, respectively.

Arkansas will also feature several student-athletes in the 1,500-meter run back on the campus of Azusa Pacific including 2015 SEC indoor All-Freshman runners Austen Dalquist and Alex George.
