Walton Arena renovations underway

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The seats are gone from the lower level of Bud Walton Arena as the first phase of renovations to one of the Southeastern Conference’s greatest basketball facilities kicks into high gear.

The retractable seating in the lower 12 rows were removed over the past week, and demolition debris cleared out to make way for the new seating.

The retrofit of the lower level seats is part of a multi-million dollar renovation which will include a new bench seating area for students, new baseline seating for media and the first-ever courtside seating at Walton Arena.

Floor work begins this week prior to the arrival of the new seating racks. The next phase includes the installation of a ribbon board around the fascia of the upper level deck.
