FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Razorback manager Gabe Warner has been hired to fill the Arkansas basketball administrative assistant vacancy it was announced by Arkansas head coach Nolan Richardson on Thursday.
Warner will succeed Wayne Stehlik in the administrative assistant role after Stehlik was named assistant coach earlier this spring. Warner will coordinate the Razorbacks’ video exchange program as well as organize the preparation of opponent scouting reports. He will also serve as an instrumental part of the Nolan Richardson basketball camps.
“Gabe has been with us for the past five years, so in many ways he will just be expanding his role,” Richardson says. “I always like to promote within the program because it gives incentive that if you work hard you will be rewarded. Both (assistant coach) Mike Anderson and now Gabe have been promoted in my time here. He is a great young man and we are looking forward to him helping us coordinate some of our off-court responsibilities.”
Warner served as a manager with the Arkansas basketball program for five years, acting as the head manager in his final two seasons. Warner has been to four NCAA Tournaments and the NIT Final Four during his tenure with the Razorback basketball program.
“I’m excited about the opportunity Coach Richardson has given me,” Warner says. “I have been fortunate to work with this quality program for the past five years. I look forward to being even more involved with my new position.”
Warner graduated with cum laude honors from the University of Arkansas in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in math.
