MINNEAPOLIS – Kyle Washburn hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Arkansas to a 6-4 win over San Diego State Saturday in game four of the Hormel Foods Classic at the H.H.H. Metrodome.
Washburn went 2-for-4 with four RBI to help the Razorbacks (9-4) snap a two-game losing streak in their first-ever meeting with the Aztecs (8-7), who lost their second in a row.
UA starting pitcher Scott Roehl (1-0) gave up one run on four hits in five innings to earn his first collegiate victory. Josh Merryman gave up one run on three hits in three innings to earn his first collegiate save. SDSU starting pitcher Chris Dunwell (1-2) allowed four runs on four hits in seven innings and lost his second-straight decision.
